I am a Bobath trained paediatric physiotherapist with considerable, wide ranging, paediatric neurological experience. I am a highly motivated, confident individual, with exceptional patient handling skills.
Employment Experience
June 2018 – present day: Paediatric physiotherapist within own company Cheshire Children’s Physio in which I am a sole trader.
October 2018 – June 2019: Band 7 physiotherapist working one day a week on the acute neurological wards, High Dependency Unit and Paediatric Intensive Care at Manchester Children’s Hospital. Gaining experience and refreshing skills in treating acute brain injuries, as well as gaining valuable opportunities for continuous professional development and networking within the NHS.
June 2014-May 2018. Paediatric Physiotherapist in Private Practice, SP Therapy Services Bury. Community and clinic-based role with company which specializes in people with neurological disorders. Mainly paediatric cerebral palsy clients, also some adult clients with cerebral palsy, stroke, head injury and MS. Clients were privately funded or case-managed clients, thus well as gaining clinical experience, I became familiar with the process of case-managed clients both pre and post settlement.

Responsible for triaging and prioritising clients. Diverse caseload age from birth to 18 years –including neurological and neuromuscular disorders, developmental delay, genetic disorders, habitual toe walkers, post-operative cancer patients, coordination difficulties. Undertaking initial assessments, setting goals and providing therapy sessions. Training parents and carers in therapeutic handling and treatment techniques. Involved in the training and supervision of Band 5 therapist and assistants. Work closely with occupational therapists and speech and language therapists. Provide advice and training to other health professionals on normal development.
October 2001 – April 2003. Senior 2 Physiotherapist, Central Manchester and Manchester Children’s University Hospital NHS Trust.
Rotational paediatric post developing a grounding in childhood conditions and physiotherapy techniques. Participate in the on-call and weekend service.
September 2001 – October 2001. Senior 2 Locum Physiotherapist, Whiston Hospital, Prescot, Merseyside. Locum respiratory cover for acute adult surgical and medical wards.
