Cheshire Children’s Physio provides specialist paediatric physiotherapy to children and young people who have neurological/neuromuscular disabilities or delay in their development. Cheshire Children’s Physio does not operate from a clinic: assessment and treatment sessions take place in the client’s own home or a mutually agreed community setting such as a school or soft play centre.
Cheshire Children’s Physio accepts instruction as physiotherapist for babies, children, and young people during their litigation process and for their physiotherapy needs post settlement, as well as for self-funding clients. Cheshire Children’s Physio is based in Warrington but covers an area of up to 1.5 hours travel from Warrington.
The usual procedure is to visit for an initial assessment session – this would take place in the client’s home and would take up to 2 hours depending on the complexity of the client. During that time a history is obtained from parent/carer before a hands-on assessment is completed. Verbal advice is then given as well as a discussion of strengths/weaknesses/goals. A written report and treatment plan with recommendations and costings is then completed. The report will take up to 3 hours, again depending on the complexity, and will be provided within two weeks of the initial assessment.
Once authorised treatment sessions will take place in the client’s home, school or other setting agreed upon. Treatment sessions are generally for 1-hour hands on, though may be extended to allow communication with those who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication. Treatment sessions will be costed for 1.25 hours to allow for preparation and writing notes.
A self-funded or case managed client may withdraw from treatment at any time without reason or prejudice.
The cost of physiotherapy is £100 per hour. This time may be spent clinically e.g. carrying out an assessment or providing a treatment session; or non-clinically e.g. liaising with other professionals, producing reports/treatment plans, researching equipment/facilities etc. Non-clinical liaison will be done with prior agreement of yourselves.
The cost of travel is £55 per hour and 50 pence per mile, costed from the cost centre at WA4 3BN.
Cancellation policy – once booked 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellation of a session; sessions cancelled within 24 hours’ notice will require payment of the full amount.
Invoices will be produced at the end of the month; payment terms are 14 days. Preferred method of payment is by bank transfer. Should a situation arise where an agreed date of payment has been exceeded without agreement, treatment will discontinue and will not recommence until outstanding payment has been received.
In the event of a payment failure this will be pursued through the courts and Cheshire Children’s Physio reserves the right to charge interest on the outstanding amount and an administrative charge at a rate of £45.00 per hour.
